The importance of Evidence-Based Practice Skills to promote Nursing Science in Women’s Health

Lara Mabelle Milfont

Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) involves the implementation of the best available evidence, including clinical expertise and patients’ values in clinical decision-making1. Despite these advantages, some nurses are reluctant to implement EBP considering that many of them did not have the inclusion of EBP in their nursing curriculum. In addition, there are obstacles such as: lack of computers and Internet search skills necessary to implement EBP. As a result, there are misconceptions that the EPB is too difficult to implement2. The purpose of this study is to describe a type of teaching experience about the development of Evidence-Based Practice Skills to nursing students in women’s health field.
